Field Trips

The club programme includes field trips and nature walks with several outings held each month in and around the Richmond Hill area. A field trip may be general in nature to simply explore a local area or on a specific topic such as birds, botany or the environment. The trips are as varied as our members, with past excursions ranging from studying flowers in Richmond Hill’s own Mill Pond Park to hiking on the Bruce Trail and birding in Algonquin Park. In lieu of a December meeting, a number of the members participate in the annual Christmas Bird Count for our area. Our results are sent to the National Audubon Society for publication in their magazine American Birds.
